Dr. James W. Shore, M.D.
Dr. Shore is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He served his internship at Baroness Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Dr. Shore served as a physician of the US Army for three years.
Dr. Shore joined Martin Medical Center, P.C. in 1967. He has staff privileges at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital. He is an active member of the Tennessee Medical Association and the Northwest Tennessee Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Shore provides a variety of primary care services to include joint injections, workman's comp care, acute and chronic care management, etc. He sees patients from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. till noon on Tuesday and Thursday.

Dr. Anna K. Hopla, M.D.
Dr. Anna Hopla is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. She spent two years in an Internal Medicine residency, followed by a two-year fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Hopla is Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hopla joined the medical staff of Martin Medical Center in 1995. She has staff privileges at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital. She serves as medical director of Fresenius Medical Center, both in Martin and Union City. She is an active member of the American Medical Association, the National Kidney Foundation, and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Hopla provides services such as acute and chronic care management, in-patient hospital care, etc. Dr. Hopla also provides acute and chronic kidney disease management. Dr. Hopla sees patients from 9:30 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Dr. Susan S. Lowry, M.D.
Dr. Susan Lowry is a graduate of UTM and East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. She served a three-year residency at UT Family Practice in Jackson.
Dr. Lowry joined the medical staff of Martin Medical Center in 1997. She has staff privileges at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital as well as many local nursing homes. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the Tennessee Medical Association. She is an American Academy of Family Physicians Fellow and a Certified Hospice Medical Director. She is also a Certified DOT Medical Examiner.
Dr. Lowry provides a variety of services to include wellness exams, DOT exams, acute & chronic care management, inpatient hospital care, etc. Dr. Lowry sees patients from 8:30 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.
Our Med Staff


Trent Scates, PA-C
Trent is a graduate of the University to Tennessee at Martin, and Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. He received his Master of Medical Science degree from Alderson-Broaddus College in West Virginia. Trent received his accreditation from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Trent joined the staff at Martin Medical Center in 2002. He is an active member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, Tennessee Association of Physician Assistants, and the Tennessee Primary Care Association. He is Certified DOT Medical Examiner and is also an instructor for the Bethel PA program.
Trent currently on military leave, but it is our plan for him to return as soon as possible. He provides a variety of services to include wellness exams, DOT physicals, acute and chronic care management, etc.

Keely Vaughan, PA-C
Keely joined Martin Medical Center in August 2015. She is a lifelong resident of Weakley County, formerly Keely Adams of Dresden. She is excited to bring quality care to the community she calls home.
Keely received her Bachelor of Science degree from UTM in 2012 and her Master of Science from Bethel University in May 2015. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants. She is a Nationally Certified DOT Medical Examiner.
Keely sees patients of all ages, Monday and Thursday from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. She provides a variety of services ranging from preventative care to caring for your acute and chronic conditions.

Leslie Ary, ACNP
Leslie is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she received her Master of Science in Nursing in August 2009.
Leslie originally joined the staff at Martin Medical Center as a Nurse Practitioner in 2009. She left Martin Medical Center for a short time and returned to our medical staff in 2014. She is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, a Certified DOT Medical Examiner, and a Certified Diabetic Educator.
Leslie sees patients ages 16 and up from 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday. She provides a variety of healthcare services to include diabetic patient education. Leslie is a Certified Diabetic Educator, one of only a few in our area. As a Certified Diabetic Educator, she is specially trained to educate and support those affected by pre-diabetes and diabetes by helping them understand and manage their condition.
